The Wizard

Paired study of the Wizard working a controller with both thumbs while his cobalt quadcopter holds station over a distant roofline and releases one water balloon through a gap in the hedges, with empty dry pavement all around him.

Early exploration — not representative of final direction.

The Wizard works both controller sticks while the drone releases a balloon beyond the hedges.

developing current version v0.4

A nervous long-range controller who drops balloons over obstacles but loses everything when his remote gets wet.

Archetype

A nervous long-range controller who drops balloons over obstacles but loses everything when his remote gets wet.

Personality

The Wizard is a lonely twelve-year-old with expensive equipment and no easy way to join a group. He stands about twenty feet back, watches his drone, and speaks only when the drop requires it. From that distance, nervousness looks like aloofness. He is not standing apart because he thinks he is better.

One kid thanked him for a good drop. He quietly kept the drone over that kid for the rest of the afternoon. He did not make a speech about it or ask to be thanked again.

Motivation

Winning means being needed. He wants air support to earn him a place in the war when ordinary conversation has not. A good drop gives him a reason to stay near the group and a simple way to help without asking how to join.

How they fight

He flies a small drone carrying one water balloon and can drop it behind hedges, over roofs, or onto ground the team cannot reach from the street. He is strongest when protected at long range and when enemies believe cover makes them safe.

The kid holding the controller is defenseless and cannot watch every approach. The controller is not waterproof. A direct stream, a fast flanker, or the Bubbling Toddler's cloud can interrupt his view and end the air support. He has no useful attack once the controller goes quiet.

Field data

  • Age: 12.
  • Height / build: approximately 1.55 m (5 ft 1 in); large build.
  • Weight: approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
  • Speed: steady (target); exact value unset.
  • Stamina / soak: called in at full soak (target); exact capacity and slowdown unset. The remote is a separate fragile target.
  • Strengths: very long reach, attacks over obstacles, precise support from safety.
  • Weaknesses: defenseless operator, fragile remote, bubbles and flankers break control.

From the studio

This revision uses casting sheet row 10 for age, identity, size, nervousness, and the remote weakness, while preserving Claira's Wizard and the thanked-once beat. No drone role exists in the sim, so every combat value is labeled as a target. Earlier published revisions remain unchanged in the timeline.

Artifact shelf

The lead plate is above. Every study opens at full size.

Paired study seen from behind of the Wizard standing alone on his driveway with both hands raised on a controller, an open foam-cut case at his heels and the drone's shadow on the pavement, while a scrum of kids fights around a hose far behind him.

Early exploration — not representative of final direction.

His raised controller, fitted case, and the drone's shadow identify him from behind.

Paired study of the Wizard turning his body away from a stray burst of water and folding his controller into his chest while his unflown drone drifts off course overhead and a bubble cloud comes up the street behind him.

Early exploration — not representative of final direction.
