The Big Kid

Paired study of the Big Kid walking through a defended cul-de-sac corner on the dry inside line with both hands empty, the four kids' line still standing behind her while two sprinting kids remain a body length back.

Early exploration — not representative of final direction.

developing current version v0.4

A huge, powerful breaker who crosses scrums quickly but is the easiest target on the street.

Archetype

A huge, powerful breaker who crosses scrums quickly but is the easiest target on the street.

Personality

The Big Kid is fifteen and insists that the war is beneath her. She says she is only staying for a minute, leans against the same fence, and shows up again the next afternoon. She is aloof, observant, and unwilling to admit that the block matters to her.

She does not act like a chaperone or a gentle giant. When pulled into the fight, she goes straight through it. She secretly cares about the younger kids, but she would rather move a problem than explain that feeling.

Motivation

Winning means ending the argument quickly enough to pretend she never joined. She wants the younger kids on her side to stop struggling with a problem she can solve in one pass. She also wants to remain the kid nobody can order around.

How they fight

She carries no weapon. Her size and strength let her break a crowded line, push through a scrum, and reach ground smaller kids cannot. She is surprisingly fast for her size and strongest when the fight becomes crowded.

Her height makes her visible above everyone around her. Throwers can target her without losing sight of her in the group, and every balloon has a large target. She has no water resistance and cannot hide behind smaller kids. Concentrated ranged fire can call her in before she reaches the line.

Field data

  • Age: 15.
  • Height / build: approximately 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in); extra-large, powerful build.
  • Weight: approximately 75 kg (165 lb).
  • Speed: fast for her size (target); exact value unset.
  • Stamina / soak: called in at full soak (target); exact capacity and slowdown unset.
  • Strengths: size, power, breaking crowded lines and surprising speed.
  • Weaknesses: very easy to target, no cover from smaller kids, concentrated water.

From the studio

This revision uses casting sheet row 4 for age, identity, personality, size, and role, with charter §8 for the silhouette mechanic. Her roster place remains contested and no Big Kid exists in the sim. Earlier published revisions remain unchanged in the timeline.

Evolution timeline

  1. v0.1 — A melee kid whose defining mechanic — being singled out of a pile of bodies — cannot be evaluated until unit-unit collision exists. seed
  2. v0.2 — The contested Big Kid slot becomes a specific fifteen-year-old girl who says the war is beneath her and attends it every afternoon; the roster contest itself is preserved in prose rather than argued away. developing
  3. v0.3 — A huge, powerful breaker who crosses scrums quickly but is the easiest target on the street. developing
